Ajei had lost track of when the boys had left. They would return any day now. She busied her time with learning the language of her mother @Shikoba and the way the older woman hunted and tracked. How she longed to be like mama, but really it seemed the only thing she had received had been her strong will and unwavering love for those she cared for. And that was not nothing, honestly. And it suited her main personality, but sometimes. She wondered if perhaps she wasn't what her mother had wanted.
Today's wanderings found her as many did near the river, but she looked at it from beside the firemother herself. The vibrant red of her tree, matching the fur of Ajei in some ways. Fish were jumping and cavorting all throughout the river as it sang it's merry song and splashed lively by.
It was beautiful here in Moonglow in fall. And Ajei wasn't sure what to do with herself. In her paws she had been working a fur, it had been stripped and cleaned. Now she simply rolled it back and forth, making it soft and supple, or so she hoped. It was a pretty brown and she hoped to use it for her shoulders.
