Neverwinter Forest i wonder what will happen today

The world was still wrapped in darkness as his eyelids were sealed shut, like a last attempt at convincing himself he was still in the warmth of the womb. He did not know it, but his body knew that it would only be a few more days until he would have to face another daunting feature of this new world: light, blinding and painful. 

For now he was content not to bother with it. Taste and touch motivated him to stick around- the world had seemed cold and noisy and overwhelming, but he was finding himself enjoying the taste of milk, the feel of being held. Today he crawled at snail-speed over one of dad's front paws, using the little sense he had to explore the flooring of the den as well as @Cupid 's soft fur.

So fatherhood was a total disaster so far. First the whole Rusalka thing, then the day long trek through the snow, and finally crashing at your one-night-stand's place. So much tiring shit crammed into a few days. All Cupid could think about was, what's next? What crazy shit was gonna happen today?

Well, he moved into his own den that day. Wasn't the craziest thing to happen this week, far from it. It was actually kind of nice. Staying in @Mal's den wasn't the worst thing in the world, but he'd be lying if he said the constant pop-in's weren't slightly annoying. Ok they were extremely annoying, but Cupid kept his cool (it's the least he could do). How? It'd be a mystery to everyone including himself.

It's nice and quiet in here. Finally, he could get some sleep. As soon as he closed his eyes, Caerus began to move. So much for that nap.

Hey little man. He lifted his head and looked down at the squirming ball of fluff. The pup still looked so strange to him. He was just so tiny and helpless. So delicate, so weak. He's like an alien, a cute little alien.

Where you off to? He leaned over and gently poked one of the boy's legs with his nose. A smile crossed over his face. Sorry man. You can't get too far with those little stubs.

Life was much simpler for Caerus. It would be a long time before he knew what went on around him, or the circumstances of his conception, birth, or move. All he knew now was that the world was something to be explored, even if he could not see it yet. There was more to know beyond vision, and he was eager to learn. 

The noise of his guardian's voice comes from above, words he did not yet know from a nameless wolf. But Cupid's cold nose pokes the boy's leg, and he let's out a delighted little squeal. Dad is here! He turns his tiny bean-shaped body around the best he could on those little stubs, and begins to crawl again in the opposite direction from before- hoping to eventually make his way towards milk.

Caerus answered with a cry of glee and Cupid couldn't stop his smile from growing wider. Everything he did was so odd and new and cute and scary to him. He questioned every babble, every action. He wondered if that's what he was supposed to be doing, or why he was doing it.

He chuckled as he watched the boy squirm back towards his belly. Hungry again? Ususally Cupid would give him a nudge in the right direction. Y'know, just so the boy wouldn't be crawling in circles all day. But he just quietly watched for now. Maybe he'd be able to find food on his own.

He tumbles clumsily in the right direction, wildly wiggling nose doing most of the work. The scent was tantalizing, irresistible, there was nothing that could set him off from that path. Tiny paws pulled him forward, flat ears, closed eyes, the epitome of helpless and yet finding his way towards food with no help whatsoever. Soon he reached it- dark nose bumped the soft fur of a stomach, he let out a sigh of contentment and began to mouth, eventually finding what he needed and drinking into sleep.
