It had not escaped Lane that things were off between herself and @Wayfarer, and each day she woke with the intention of speaking with her daughter about it. Somehow, the conversation kept getting put off; either because Wayfarer could not be found (was she avoiding Lane?) or because pressing concerns arose that pulled at the medic's attention: most recently, Veteran's fight and resulting wounds.
Today however, Lane was determined to speak with her errant child. Veteran had been set to the task of mixing his own scar poultice, so mother and daughter would have the space to hash out whatever this was uninterrupted.
"Wayfarer, stay for a minute please," Lane spoke to her daughter, who looked like she was about to get up and leave just when her mother came onto the scene. Was it intentional? "I wanted to spend some time with you. What have you been up to?" It occurred to Lane that she didn't even know what interested Wayfarer these days, or what the girl spent her time doing when she was away from communal spaces. What were her aspirations? Was Lane a bad mother for not knowing..?
