Mature Content Warning

This thread has been marked as mature. By reading and/or participating in this thread, you acknowledge that you are of age or have permission from your parents to do so.

The participants have indicated the following reason(s) for this warning: insinuations!

She was slower now, but hopefully wiser now in her golden years. At seven, she had lived many lives with many different wolves in many different places. Her time had been spent listen rather than talking, following rather than leading. But it was in this area where she had gotten her start. Not this grassy pasture specifically, but she could smell the coast and remembered its curves.

Nostalgia struck her strongly. She thought of her first love, Summer, and how things had gone from there. She had had another after him, a sweet caring man who had been with her through years before he had left this realm for another. His passing had been peaceful, but she still missed him even nearly a year later.

And now, she felt the familiar tingle of spring in her step. She had never had children, even thought herself incapable of doing so after trying many times over the years, but that had never stopped her before, and it did not stop her today.

A lonely crooning howl called for company.

the encounter with the pale woman — however that had gone — had left him shaken. he hadn't thought it was possible to still feel lust after loneliness for so long.

his jowls sagged, his joints creaked, and yet, somehow, his junk still worked.

and now, another temptress wreathed in scent.

she was around his age, this one, and aditya came upon her with mingled fascination and fervency. deep black, and as he got closer, he noticed the green eyes —

oh, radha. . .

it must be her, but it wasn't, but it must, and he barked her way with eyes clouded with memory and want.

mera pyaara, he crooned, hoping she would let him touch her — and that she would not evaporate upon said touch.

Ah, how easy it was to fall back into old ways. This was not her sweet man, but he was similar in age and appearance. Enough so that Ty found herself wondering if she too had passed into that next realm. But she felt the earth beneath her feet and her heart beating in her chest just as strongly as it ever had. Ty held no fanciful notions of love or a lasting relationship from any encounters she had in the next few days. She merely wished for a warm embrace.

However.

She was unwilling to let herself be taken without at least a bit of a chase. With the years ahead dwindling, she knew to choose her suitors—even the temporary ones—with care.

When he reached for her, she pulled away playfully, teasing him to come try again. Not so fast, Casanova. I prefer at least an exchange of names.

radha dissipated upon the remark; it was not her. it left him both saddened and relieved, and he gave the dark woman a rueful smile, pulling back just a hair.

what if i am casanova, he teased, flagging his tail. he shot her a gleaming grin, taking another few steps back.

then cocked his head. and you?

good that it wasn't radha. a fresh start. another bridge to burn.

She smirked. He was a charmer, if not a casanova. Tytonidae, she replied, her tail lashing behind her. Once upon a time, she’d been a Redleaf, and perhaps somewhere deep down, she still was.

Ty took a closer look at “Casanova,” still unconvinced it was his true name, but not bothering to care or needle him for it. He appeared healthy, lively, and for all intents and purposes, attractive. There was little to complain about, and she had no reason to think he would be anything but a gentleman based on their brief interaction so far.

She nipped at his shoulder, should he let her get so close to do so, then drew back an instant later, whipping herself around and bounding a few paces forward only to glance back to assure herself that he followed. They always did follow.

that was a mouthful, but he wouldn't judge. she'd probably think the same of some of his own family. tytonidae, he repeated back, pronouncing each syllable with care.

and just like her name, she proved she wasn't easy.

but he did follow.

c'mon, chi chikni raat. the words died in his throat. that name was for coelacanth, and for her only. an ache found its way into his chest, and were it not for the enticing smell before him. . .

aditya cleared his throat. chaiyya. but that, too, was reserved, and that by alya—

suddenly consumed with self-loathing at all the women he'd forsaken, he bore down upon tytonidae, hoping to add her as well to the lengthy list of lovers won and lost.

but there was no room left in his heart for love.

He murmured word she did not understand, but Tytonidae found she did not care. She would listen now, ask questions never. The freedom she held now was so different than what she’d had in years past. With Summer, she had wanted so much to prove that she could provide for him. Give him children. With her sweet man, she had only ever wanted to be happy, to make him happy. And she had. But he had gone from this world, and she only wanted to make herself happy.

And what would you do if you caught me? she asked, her breath short from running from him, teasing him into the chase.

he loomed up beside her and took her scruff in his mouth, if she'd allow. we're both much too seasoned to be asking those kind of questions, mera pyaara, he mumbled, chuckling against her fur, or the air, or however the situation panned out.

he was tired of games. should tytonidae acquiesce, he'd wrap his forelegs 'round her chest and go about his business.

and should she not. . .

his mental patience wore thin, but the flesh—oh so willing, even still.

Ah, but isn’t this the time of year you feel the youngest, Casanova? she murmured, even as she gave into their mutual bodily desires. For her, it certainly was. Youthful thoughts flowed through her mind, and she felt as old as the day she had first stepped into adulthood. Spring was a a light, fun, and joyous time. Much like youth itself.

Ty let herself become lost in time, relishing their coupling for what it was—a tender moment between strangers.

. . .

She relaxed prone, preening the fur on her forelegs afterward. A careful eye caught his for a moment, and she wondered what he planned to do now. She did not think him the possessive type, though she had no real way of knowing this. Perhaps Ty simply saw the best in others.

his first thought upon completion was that, perhaps, he lacked the longevity of his youth.

his second thought was a rebuke—at least you got some, you bastard.

he glanced over to see tytonidae looking at him already, and he raised a brow. yes? adi asked, smirking. you're not already ready for a second round, are you? because i need a bit more time.

he lay down again on his side, cheek resting on the earth but his eyes still lingering over her face.

they were both of an age, and he wondered that both of them still could. . .well, do this.

Ty laughed, her voice light and airy. No, no. One round should be sufficient, she said. Ty contemplated explaining that she couldn't conceive, but she decided against it. Let him be the one to ask. Or not ask, if that happened to be the case.

A nap sounds better, the girl said, stretching her legs out long before rolling to her side. She glanced at him again, then patted the ground beside her gently, inviting him to join if he so wished. But she could also see the appeal in wanting some space.

bahut acchha, he rumbled, and stretched languorously, a small groan leaving his lips as muscles eased and joints popped. haye, he thought he even heard one aloud, and would have been embarrassed had he not been too old to care.

aditya snuggled closer to tytonidae, resting his chin upon her shoulder if she'd allow. the heat of her was nice in the chill that still lingered in early spring, and he yawned against her pelt, swelling with the rise and fall of her chest.

his golden eyes were slits. how long has it been, for you? he breathed. me. . .god, i can't say. but how nice this has been, with you. . .

he might have been asleep before he even caught her answer.

She managed a smile at his question, followed by his own admission. Too long, she muttered, sleep quickly taking her before she could expand upon the answer. No use in drudging up memories of her love. Not when she could lay peacefully in this moment.

Ty would not linger long after she woke, preferring to slip out undetected. She would, however, give him a long look before she went on her way. Memorizing the smell of him, the shape of his body, the movement of his breath.
