More details.  She didn't want to think about, and didn't want to say it, but for Wraen she would.  And then she wouldn't think about it again, except when her traitor brain reminded her... which was pretty much every time she had a moment of silence.

He didn't but I talked to Sarah.  She steadied herself for a minute.  She went back to find mom and dad, but when she did, they were together.  She said it was the smoke.  She looked at the ground.  The others had already run, so she got separated.  They might be okay. It was enough to hope at least.

She kept her eyes down, thinking about it.  About how Sarah had seemed to blame herself, about how they hadn't gotten themselves out.  In her entire life, she'd never felt loss like this, or pain, and it was a new emotion that she hated with every fiber of her being.  It wasn't fair.
