Hell, I think I've gotten this far just pretending I know what I'm doing, I'm sure you'll have better luck, and again a playful smile. Maybe it would seem like he was joking there, but he really had opted for the school of fake it 'til you make it. He'd figured out enough in the process to scrounge by, and it hadn't exploded in his face yet.
