The young girl explained that her father had described snow to her once, even though she had never actually lived through it on her own. “The whole world gets still and quiet,” he explained to her, voice warm and rumbling. “It’s white and shimmering, softer than sand after it first falls, and will make your coat thick and warm.” The inkwell laughed at the premise; surely it would sound almost farfetched to Meerkat, who had never experienced something like snow in her life. Atlas hoped that she might enjoy it.
 
Looking to the skies, drinking in the scent, the young Ostrega fixed her with a sure smile and a charming quirk of his brow before speculating, “I’d say soon. In the next full moon or the one after.”
