Reyes awakens in the middle of a sunlit patch of grass. There was a ratty scrag-end of forest behind him, a few songbirds having an interminable discussion in the higher reaches. He thinks they're the cause of his early rising.

When he rolls over to his back he can tilt his nose towards the sky, listen to the green give way beneath him, and watch their beaks glinting in the light. Reyes glares up at them with half a mind to bark or shout expletives, but the slight movement of his body has spooked them enough. They take wing as his mouth opens; he huffs, and slouches back down on his other side.

A yawn draws up his throat, he listens to the distortion of sound as his ears pop, and licks his lips. They still taste like red meat and mud - and he sighs, remembering the previous night's antics. The boy looks around for signs of @Towhee as he rises to his feet, and when they are not immediately identifiable, he begins his hunt for water. Best get himself cleaned up, at any rate.
