What had she gotten herself into?

Leigh released a quiet, nearly inaudible gasp as the stranger swiftly snapped their jaws at the fly. The she-wolf stood tense, though not out of fear. It was moreso confusion, hesitation to approach the unknown. The woman had never seen this wolf before, nor had any of her packmates described a red pelt through conversation.

Tilting her ears towards the sound of a rasping voice, she listened carefully, attempting to block out background noise to better hear the exact words emitted by the stranger's bloodied mouth. Was this an invitation perhaps? Was Leigh truly being invited over? And what for?

The red wolf was larger, possibly stronger. Although Leigh was confident she could squeeze out of any trouble if that were to occur, she was unsure if she'd be willing to take such a risk.

For now she'd test the waters, taking a couple of strides towards the unfamiliar face, keeping an eye out for any changes in expression or mood.
