Redhawk Caldera If the whole wide world stops spinning

Her ears tipped back a bit.  Yeah, she said, though she couldn't help the semi skeptical drop to the words.  She could almost feel her stomach trying to turn only thinking about eating something, so actually doing it was going to be a struggle if this didn't subside.  Maia wasn't the best at forcing herself into uncomfortable situations, and already she was silently thinking of ways to potentially sidetrack him if it came to it.

Water was her top priority, so before she answered, she picked her way over and leaned forward to drink.  Her muscles protested even that much movement but the water tasted way too good to care.  She'd done a lot of running last night, including a wolf sprint up the Caldera's slope, and her mouth had that dry morning feeling that almost seemed to make her headache more pronounced.  She took a few slow, solid drinks before she paused to answer.

It's... I don't even know how to describe it.  It's like a bird screeching, really high, just in earshot.  That was the best approximation she could make, but the fact that he couldn't hear it was interesting.  

She finished her drink, then sighed and sat down.  Aside from the pounding head, she really was in a much better place today than she had been last night.  What little she could remember wasn't necessarily great, and she hesitated.  For some reason, small talk seemed... weird.  After everything.  There was really only one thing that made sense to say, and she couldn't remember saying it last night.  Thanks, Eljay.
