The woman studied the wolf.

Leigh kept a watchful gaze, eyes sharp as she studied the stranger's facial expressions. Although she was no expert on non-verbal communication, the she-wolf was a gifted observer so in some way, it made up for her lack of skill.

But in this particular case, she was unsure. The red wolf standing before her was rather... complicated and confusing to read. They gave no real indication of their inner emotions and thoughts, at least from what Leigh could tell, and the she-wolf therefore couldn't get a grasp on what this new face's intentions may be. There appeared to be no real threat of danger, but it was better to remain careful rather than become a shredded body on the ground. It was only until the stranger spoke did the she-wolf feel tempted to engage.
