An impulse to search had driven her south. But hours passed, bleeding together into practically a single blink and she had nothing to show for it besides a growing hunger and tired paws. The dark female had gone south and finally, with a disgruntled huff, she decided to turn her nose back towards the north -- eventually in the direction of the Sunspire. It was time she began to head back. With someone so pivotal presumably missing, her presence was needed even more.
The return would not go so swiftly. She jogged in silence with her nose low and ears angled back on a path that soon joined the waterway. Once there, she felt a hint of relief. The water's scent and sound brought her some respite, but it did nothing to bring her answers regarding her suddenly misplaced friend. She slowed, and moved into the water itself. From here on out she would travel up the creek and let her feet and underbelly get wet as she did, knowing it was wise to enjoy these places before winter's freeze came.
There was a while in which she was alone, pensive and listening to the landscape as she went -- despite it having little to say right now. By this point, she had come to doubt she would find trace of Ferdie here. Instead, her path guided her towards a dark wolf who had paused for a drink and she regarded him critically; while he was not what she was looking for, she would investigate him anyway. Ame's approach slowed and her eyes narrowed to see how he would regard her.
