Hey! called a familiar voice, and Sialuk turned to find the witch of the glen. Anaa had given Sialuk the girl’s real name, Fennec, though she would always think of her as the witch first.

Witch of the Glen, she greeted, a smile on her face and her features welcoming. It has been some time. She recalled that her mother had called the witch “cursed,” and though Sialuk would be careful, she did not shy away from her. Since they had last met, Sialuk had matured a great deal, and this was likely present in her voice as well.

I was hoping to find some Wolf’s Bane beneath the snow, but I have come up with nothing. There was disappointment in her voice, and she wished that her seeking had not been for nothing.
