Well, this was a little awkward. Killdeer sedulously avoided either red wolf's gaze, choosing instead to keep staring at Teya. Probably to a creepy extent. He realized this too late, and shifted his eyes to her paws, but when she spoke, they snapped back up to her face.

Oh, he said aloud. Thus addressed, he glanced at Caracal. I'm going wherever he goes, he said with the most confidence he could muster, and gave his friend a fleeting grin (albeit a bit strained). 

He looked back at Reyes. Although, d'you know where my Mom and Dad went? Fennec and Bronco? Did they stick around or. . .

It was kind of a tough choice, had they gone away. Caracal was his bosom buddy, but he did miss his parents a fair bit. If the two of them weren't coming back, he wasn't sure what to do.
