It was Teya's voice ushering him to the edge of land. Home island or not, Reyes knew it didn't matter where he moored himself and pushed himself to swim harder.

He climbed ashore and placed Sorana down.

Was she breathing? She was cold; did she shiver? Had he held on too tightly? The man was frantic. He heard Teya scramble beside him and tried to lick Sorana's face.

She coughed and then a cry erupted from her, as well as rivulets of water. Reyes wheezed and looked to Teya and practically collapsed  beside their daughter.
