By the time Nazli felt compelled to search out breakfast for when Makono returned, the rain had stopped and the clouds hung fat and dark overhead. The grove was mighty compared to little Nazli, and tall, and even with the advancing autumn there were leaves of bronze and red upon them, the likes of which she had never seen before.
