It made her visibly shrink, for a moment, almost melting to the ground before picking herself up again, responding to his inquiry with an awkward little laugh. Yes, yeah, sorry, She peels herself from off of her tree of respite, only to lean against it once more, this time with her shoulder. She was sure her appearance was an embarrassing level of disheveled, and yet she did nothing to straighten herself out. She was, frankly, tired of trying to appear pretty.
