Rosewater Oasis fight, little wolf, fight

as he packs the wound the ailing boy swings for him, teeth grazing past his cheek. 

ah! a boy with brio; soto’s eye lights with approval, stepping back as the two inspect his work. 

he’s no medicine woman, but he’s bought the feverish boy a little more time. 

to his skeptic brother, soto motions. he points to the fading horizon where verapaz’s borders sprawl, and then back to the boy slumped in the reeds. his eyes search the expression of the reserved twin, waiting for him to connect that now it came time to move his brother from the dangers of the bank.

eventually, they understand. soto pauses every so often to allow them to catch up, leading them to the heart of verapaz.
