she huffs teasingly at his invitation to go first, feigning offense even while her tail wafts behind her. she pauses, shifting slightly to the right where the earth is softer, and starts again.
"I know the place," she tells him, "I lived there for a few weeks; a man called rannoch led it then." she wonders what happened to him, and considers probing for information about her old friend, but finds herself more interested in the man at her side. "last I heard, they'd disbanded and moved to a nearby territory," she offers, remembering the man she'd met by the bypass. "where did you go, after the quakes?" was there any place that had escaped that great thundering of the earth?
