Aquene had been resting with her children close to her when she felt the oldest start to stir. Her eyes barely dragged open before Siku was joining in with his chorus.
She sighed softly, sitting up with a yawn before gently humming in hopes that the vibration from her throat might soothe them even if they could not hear, attempting to hush her children and soothe them, tongue running over both of them to groom them before the scent of urine filled the den.
It was a joy of motherhood that everyone had failed to mention.
