her ruse was up the moment her sneeze rattled the grass she hid in. traitor nose, giving everything away. 

ava stepped shyly from the tall grass as she felt hviske’s gaze upon her. there was a sadness in his eyes she recognized in kinship immediately. 

her tail, clamped close to her thighs, gave a timid wave. but ava did not approach - a call from heda beckoned her back to the den.
