*awkward crickets as he menacingly stares her down* LOL

The air of the mesa had shifted.

A new scent wafted through the palace halls. The jodai was keen to notice it.

They (@Anaelle) were seen quite plainly as the beast of a man twisted and turned through the corridors, checking for disruption near the chambers and throne room.

The sight of them wasn't pleasant, nor was the faint welcoming of Akashingo upon their pelt.

In a long stride, the dark furred wolf moved to block their way. His heavy gaze bore down upon them; a silent dare to cause an itch beneath his skin.

She had left the side of the queen for now, only for a moment, ranging never far. She was still in such awe!

She only explored a bit, and was on her way back, humming in delight to herself. Until she nearly ran into the legs of a man.

A very large man.

Her ears immediately went flat. Her eyes bugged out and she skittered back a step. The queen promised no teeth, but she didn’t trust others to follow that.

S-salut!

Anaelle tried to put a smile on her face, but it was wobbly and obviously terrified.

The canine's aura carried the familiar scents of the shabti. Perhaps the queen had found herself a new attendant.

It trembled slowly, failing miserably to hold a confident composure. The jodai scoffed ever so lightly.

You now belong to Akashingo? He felt the answer may have been obvious, but he still wanted to hear it from them. What is your name? Then he asked, not sparing a moment from the former query,

The beastly long legged spoke as if he didn’t look ready to eat her up and use her bones to pick his teeth. In the mind of the scared maiden, his teeth were comically large.

Had she the mind for it, she’d have laughed. As it was, though, she merely quivered.

Ah…Anaëlle? She coughed out.

You? Her voice had risen into a mouse’s squeak.

Another puny canine to join their ranks.

But he was curious now. What rank had the pharaoh bestowed this one?

What status do you hold, Anaelle. The pronunciation was different than her own. He was foreign to such an accent, having only recently found his own voice.

Anaelle couldn’t help the thick swallow she partook in.

U-Um… Her mind was a litany of buzzing French bees, all screaming over one another as the woman promptly forgot everything she ever knew and came up blank.

S-Sesh? Heal? With plant? She gave a shaky little smile. Had she thumbs, she would have given quite the awkward thumbs up.

Sesh. Interesting.

Finding use for no more words, the jodai had what information he sought.

With a simple grunt of dismissal, both that of his and hers, the dark beast turned and lumbered down the corridor, soon to be gone from view.
