Thread title is a rough translation of “see and “hear”. Ahna’s eyes and ears are opening at 12 days old! Her vision is blurry, and her hearing muffled. All moonglow members welcome, but parents first. @Ajei and @Arrluk (if your able)

It was early in the morning, and Ahna had awoken from a deep sleep beside her sister and brother, nestled up against their mother’s warm side. Just days ago, she would see nothing but darkness through closed lids. But today was different; she moved her head, lifting it up to the best of her ability. There was a light, something glowing; leaking inside the den like water would. She turned her head toward the den mouth, feeling the warmth of this light. 

There was also another sense which had awoken: Muffled sounds filled her ears. She had no clue what they were, but it was fascinating nonetheless.

She let out a small bark, although it was more of a squeak, announcing this new discovery to whoever would listen.

Ajei was a doting mother. A mother that watched and kept an eye on her babies at all times.  Ahna was the first one up on this day and Ajei nosed at her little face. Blowing gently at her little nose. 

Oh look at you little one you can see. She nuzzled her again. Offering her own little gentle chuff. She didn't want to overwhelm her daughter.

Her little bit of a tail wagged when her mother touched her nose, and she let out another happy squeak. 

Although muffled, she found her mother’s voice calming, reassuring. She continued to study her mother’s blurry features. Ajei’s red coat stood out the most, and she moved to snuggle up against her mother’s chest floof.

A squeak. Chinook is a needy child, yet relatively quiet all the same. Her grunts and mews as low and soft, yet often. Whenever she feels a cold spot on her body. Whenever she feels the warmth around her shift away, be it her siblings just moving around to try and explore or her parents lifting to clean them, she whines to find herself comfortable against them once more. They are blurry things of black and white all around. Lightness and darkness. Their voices ease her into slumber always.

Ajei curled paws around little ones. Gathering them to herself. Soft little ears, dear little faces. Small noses to press. Licks along for heads. She could smell their scent all day and never grow tired of it. How much she loved them.
