@Aeryn @Minnow @Valiant important thread! Post at least once letting me know if you want to be PP'd on the trip or if you want threads.

He had given it some time. Aliac had been missing for almost two weeks now and there had been not a single sign or sighting to suggest she was alive. During that time Sunny had explained to the three pups that their mother may not come home again. He couldnt promise them that but...he had to warn them. After that he had used distraction, he had let them play, let them explore where they wanted to. He let them tussle and sort things out. And then he played with them, gave them toys and food. He snuggled them and kept them clean. He didn't get angry when they got emotional or avoided him. He loved them and understood a child going through the loss of a parent. Today though he called their attention "Starting now and for the next few days we'll be going on an adventure. I am taking you on a big trip to see your aunt Dawn!" he said this in an excited tone though there was an edge that said he was serious.

Valiant was still angry. He missed his mother, and although he loved his father just as dearly, he was no substitute for Aliac. Not all on his own, especially. The pale boy couldn't understand why his mother had left them, and slowly but surely, he was learning to resent her more than his stalwart father. So he was not terribly sullen when he was called to play audience to his father's plans. The idea of a journey greatly intrigued him -- enough to take his mind off how upset he was.

"Dawn?" he asked hopefully, remembering the shewolf that'd looked so much like his father, and who'd smelled so nice and had made him feel so at peace. He was eager to see her once more, and eager to be on the road after being confined to the territory all his life. If Minnow got to have adventures, why shouldn't he?

Minnow followed her brother as she chose to stick close to her siblings since her mother left them. She often wondered why she left and she was confused. But her thoughts subsided when her dad spoke. “Adventure yay!”

gonna PP @Aeryn to keep this moving

He watched the various levels of excitement displayed, Aeryn who remained quiet but the small twitches of his tail spoke of curiosity, Minnow who shouted with excitement and Valiant who showed eagerness to see Dawn much like himself. "Yes, Dawn. We will be going in a few days once things settle down a bit more" he said with a smile forming, glad that this so far seemed to be a good plan.

Valiant cheered and danced in tiny circles at this news, missing entirely that they would not be leaving for several more days. He did not remember Dawn very well, but what he did remember of the brief encounter made his heart soar with longing. All he knew was that he loved her very much, and that it'd been so very long since he'd seen her. He felt an inexplicable pride to be related to her, the same as he was proud to have Sunny as his father.

This happy news made him grin up at his dad, and he pressed himself against Sunny's forelegs in a show of affection that'd become few and far between since Aliac's disappearance.

She saw her brother get really happy and it made her happy too and she wagged her little tail. She couldn’t wait for the trip and she smiled.

Minnow can pop in if Alyssa wants but otherwise I'm gonna archive

Valiant exploded with enthusiasm and Minnow seemed excited, even Aeryn agreed with a wag of his tail and seemed happier. When Valiant pressed against his legs his heart squeezed and he swallowed a lump that rose in his throat, lowering his head and embracing his son while he had the chance to. "Alrighty, go on and play now and we'll leave as soon as I make sure the pack is okay for a few days" he said hoarsely, sounding close to tears again but with a warm tone. He was so glad to have his kids right now, if they hadn't been born he wasn't sure if he could stand being alive.
