With their discovery of the newly formed pack Roangeda behind them, and considered a success, Tzila led the way back towards the Haunted Wood and the Nightwalkers. She and Serem had gathered what information they could, and were the first two adults in the pack aware of the new neighbors. Her curiosity about how Vengeance would take the news was at a peak and she felt a certain sense of duty to report these findings to her Warlord as soon as possible.
Along the way home, Tzila made the practical decision to take a shortcut, skirting around the massive body of water called Lake Rodney. With prey still scarce...even the bite sized morsels...she wanted to investigate another option. Perhaps a different variety of food was still abundant, not affected by the quakes like the terrestrial prey had been. Fish, oysters and shell fish were hardly her first choice for food. They reminded her too much of the ocean. Of her shore side home. But if the water was not yet frozen over, an icy dip might just be worth it to see if it would yield any results.
