All Welcome
@Ruò

it had been the obnoxious barking of the sea lions that had drawn him near to the shore, their deafening cries enough to momentarily spark his interest. he'd never seen the ocean before, let alone the sight of the bulky seals.

he might have tried to kill one if not for the fact that they collected in masses, their colonies leaving little room for him to sneak in and secure himself a meal. but despite his obvious disadvantage, the inky ghoul remained curious of the unfamiliar beasts all the same. and so after a moment of consideration, he set himself a good distance away and let ever watchful eyes observe the groups with the intention of picking out any signs of weakness.

ruo went to check out if the sea lions were still around. she had no desire to attack them, but out of curiosity if they still laid about. she saw them from afar moons ago, but they weren't an unfamiliar sight, so she didn't care too much to look.

though, she wasn't doing much. rather, she never did anything in particular, so the siren had plenty of free time to spare. she also wanted to makre sure they had no intention of taking the isle's shorelines, because it'd be quite a pain with their numbers. they wouldn't be able to lay on the beach if these monsters lay claim, and fighting them wouldn't be an option.

the girl took note, however, another was in the area, the same distance as herself. she remained silent, but a nod in greetings.

he had hoped the beasts would have been a bit more interesting to watch, but the sad reality was that they weren't much more than sunbathing blubber. what little movements they made where sluggish and a bore, easily weighing down his eyes and causing drowsiness to set in. he was aware that soon, should time continue to pass so tediously, he wouldn't be able to fight off the sleep.

the last thing he wanted was to rest so exposed in an unfamiliar territory. there was no protection from the elements or the hulking masses that laid not far away, and while they had not appeared to mind his presence so far, he'd rather not take the risk. and so with a few lazy blinks, astaroth rose to begin his search for a more suitable resting place, his newfound company going completely unnoticed.

he looked of a shadow of the night. almost making her think of a nightmare in the flesh- he wasn't jet black but had wisps of white. fearsome, but she also had no fear, "are you going to attack them," was her first thought as he stared at them so.

when he rose up, she thought he may be preparing for the hunt, and couldn't deny being intrigued. she knew her cousin would be interesting in hunting them, but wasn't sure how. they were in a group, big and thick skin.. what did they taste like though.

the siren had questions.

he blames it on the wind for having not noticed her sooner, her scent blending in well with that of the ocean's. another seafarer he assumes, one who he'd not yet seen during his exploration of the shoreline. for a moment he considers approaching, but opts to remain in place instead, leaving it up to her as to whether or not to close the distance between them.

he glances back in the sea lion's direction as he silently wonders if his new company knew of any weakness the beasts might have. perhaps their numbers dwindled during the night? or maybe his eyes were simply not accustomed to picking out their flaws.

she was growing irate, someone more recluse then herself was troublesome. mei could be counted on the same line, but she rarely interacted with the said cousin and didn't mind too much, but if ruo interacted with someone, who didn't reply back? she felt insulted.

"rude man." the language was spoken in her mother-tongue, she didn't care about the stranger anymore. the siren didn't want to waste more time pushing herself in a social setting to someone who didn't give back. if he said no more, ruo would leave.

his attention snapped from the lounging creatures to the greyscale sylph the moment the words had left her mouth. "what did you say?" he questioned, half because he couldn't hear her between the barking sea lions and crashing waves, and half because he had heard say something, but not in any language he understood.

it had sounded like an insult based on her tone alone but he assumed he had just misheard, primarily because he hadn't been listening very closely to begin with.

a foreign man, speaking the foreign langauge, so she repeated it, "rude man." ruo was honest to what she said, not being one of those who says one thing in her mother-tongue, but then stabbing in the back with a nicer version. said it how it was.

but now he was talking to her.

fucking hell.

does she have to be rude to people to get them to talk?

this is why the siren hates going out.

editing on an ending and archiving

"rude?!" he questioned a bit startled, his face contorting into something confused and disgruntled. he'd been called annoying before, sure, but rude? "what have i done to deserve such a title?" he wondered while taking a few cautious steps towards the greyscale woman.

he turned an ear in her direction, the sea lions unrelenting in their cries. if she said anything else, good or otherwise, he wanted to hear it. in the end though it seemed she had no further interest in conversing with him, and so he bid her a simple farewell before pulling away to continue observing the strange creatures by himself.
