A mother and her son sat in a field of purple grass beneath a barren tree.
Look son.
They both stared up at the yellow hive that dangled from a branch. They both knew a wonderful treasure was sealed within it, but neither made the move to shake it down.
Get it,his mother ordered.
He looked at her, eyes full of confusion.
But you said it'd hurt me.
Get it,she growled.
Get it. Get it. Get it.
She continued to chant that over and over. She moved towards him, shoved her face into his. Her voice surrounded him. His heart raced.
I don’t wanna,he cried,
Momma, please stop.
But she would not stop. Not until he did what he was told.
So he shook the tree, watched the hive fall down, watched the insects fly out, and let them consume him until he ceased to be.
