@Orlaith Forward dated to the 19th, if that's ok, if not I'll change it back to the 18th
Derg had taken to exploring the surrounding the mountain range, glad to spend a few days outside of the canyon.
Too hot and stuffy for him, but alas it was where he called home. Though he doubted he'd ever get the sand that gave his legs an orange tint out from under his fur.

Oh well.
He traveled the low slopes of this mound of a mountain, having no idea that it likely once had changed the landscape here. The top of the peak was obscured by a thin veil of misty clouds.
He didn't fancy going all the way up there, he didn't have much of a head for heights.

A soft sprinkling of rain fell from above, but he continued. It'll clear up in the next few minutes.

thats fine!

Orlaith had only a bit of knowledge of this group called 'The Saints,' but knew not of what their members looked like, or their scents. The best she could do was raise the border protection, asking others to mark more, and be more wary. It was the best she could ask for those who aren't warriors.

None could be done if she didn't know what the fuck they smelled or looked like. She had no idea of where they could be as well, and the best the fire-fae had done was wander around, in the hope to perhaps encounter any of them. It also was simply great to get out of the willows and explore more of the area. She enjoyed having knowledge of the land, rather then fight in the unknown if the time came.

Orlaith found a rather interesting area, sprinkled in rain and kept a overcast above. It was a rough land, and she had an inkling perhaps thunder would cast itself onto her. She chuckled at the thought, as the doubt sprung as soon as the thought came to be.

However, what did come instead of thunder, was the presence of another wolf. She grinned and called out to the brown wolf "Hey there stranger, what fancies you to the mountains?"

His ears pricked at a call to him.
Another.
He turned to face her, noting she was limping slightly.
Had she hurt herself here?

Concern etched his eyes, but not so much his voice, which was returned in much the same tone as her's was delivered, "Exploring. My pack has made a new home back thata way," he tipped his nose in the direction of Redsand, which was in the vague direction of the Sunspire, the looming peak behind the empire he'd unwittingly passed without incident.

If only they knew.

"Did you hurt herself out here?" He asked, a little more concern entering his voice.

it's been a bit since the injury, so almost healed! it'll be a -1 on dice rolls!

"Oh yeah? What's your pack called?" It surely couldn't be the Empire. She hadn't explored that far besides the Sunspire, but otherwise didn't stray too far from the willows. She wanted to be close enough to see signs if anything happens, especially signs of any war-hungry wolf trying to enter the realm. Though it had been quite peaceful until recently.

However Orlaith hasn't seen anything herself.

Speaking of her leg, she felt bitter about it, "Nah, had a spat with a new member of my pack." She should be glad there wasn't anything major hit, only minor-ish wounds. It was almost healed, perhaps another day the fire-fae assumed. She didn't desire to put too much pressure on it and continued to do so- but firmly believed she'd be alright.

Ah good. She confirmed that she was ok. Just careful.
His tail waved softly, his concern ebbing. He didn't need to think up some cure to help her or ease any pain.
"I hope that you don't find yourselves at odds again," he replied with a soft smile. Though it wasn't, and may never be, his issue to be involved in.

"The Saints," he replied. He'd no idea which pack this woman hailed from, and assumed wrongly they had moved far enough away.
Oh well.

There was more to the story, "Hope not, next time I see him it's going to happen again though," but she refrained from the reason. Orlaith tended to be rather assertive when it comes to territory, especially when a wolf within the realm does not submit. Their Queen would not approve her methods, she knew well, but Orlaith had her own methods to initiate those who were new. She didn't enjoy those who didn't submit to her reign, how else would she command those who don't listen? She chuckled.

If they don't listen, but only to one, how else will the court co-operate with each other?

She kept thinking of reasons why- and deducting why it should happen. However, in reality Orlaith just hated anyone who thought they were above her, and also didn't submit to her. She wanted to be the Sovereign of the guards.

And as the proclaimed guard leader of the Seelie Court, she had high alarm to those that @Lumiya had warned her about. "You're the group that has been causing trouble?" It was obvious by her demenour and fur bristling that she was now in a more territoral position. Though while continuing and intimidating stance, she waited to see what defense he would proclaim.

He seemed so friendly.. Yet at a horrendous group.

Huh? So she was pretty pissy about this new member and whatever he did to piss her off so, but he didn't really have the time and means to inquire more, and perhaps help her work through what had happened.

She bristled at him, and it dawned on him that she was one of the many packs that had opposed them as their old borders.
He dipped his head, tail tucking. He didn't want to fight here. He didn't want to cause trouble.
"I ain't caused no trouble lady," he murmured quite audibly.
"We were forced to move, and have." He didn't want her to have a try on with him, but it seemed like it would come to blows anyway.

"Caused no trouble?" she snorted, "yet multiple packs had to tell you to leave?" Orlaith did not know for certain what the Saints had done. She didn't care either, because the Queen was, and admitted to, being scared. All she felt was that the realm was danger if they are near, and it seemed since their movement, they moved near the court!

"Yet, you moved close to even more groups." The flaming wolf started to lower herself to the ground, as she slowly stalked around the 'Saint' member. Her leg, injured as it is, she forced it to stay still to balance. Each step was with care and slowness as she eyed the brown, unknown wolf.

"We do not appreciate your type of group." Orlaith snarled at the quiet fellow. She almost would've felt bad, if it wasn't for the fact such a fellow, joined such a terrible group. Those who follow evil, do not deserve her pity.

Fine. Whatever.
If she didn't want to even try letting it go, he wouldn't be able to either.
His tail slipped out from between his legs at this realisation, stalking around her as if a mirror.
"I do not decide where we move," he replied, his voice now as hard as the stone they stood on.

He let a low rumble slip from him, like the soft promise of a storm before it hit.
"And I'm sure you don't decide if it is wise to attack me."
She didn't seem like it, given the tale she just told.
Oh, why did he have to run into one that opposed them.

thread is here!
orlaith rolled a 6,
6-1=5

Lower to the ground did she stalk, following similarity to her tail dropping between her legs, and ears lowered to her head. She had a good center of balance, but with her leg not fully healed, she knew it'd be a rough fight. Nontheless.. "A warning, that The Saints still have enemies in the mountains," she hissed through her teeth, as snarls was following after.

Since the other didn't back off, she was fully prepared to try and send a warning. Even if a loss had occured, the message would be clear. Those who disdain them, do not approve of this move. However, Orlaith still held confidence she could deal a good amount of blows. Her first move was always a lunge toward the fiend, a straight tackle to push off to balance. She hoped with a feirce tackle and a attempt to grip at his neck, she would push him down to submission.

A warning.
He almost scoffed, but hat would infuriate her. He took this position to defend himself, to prove that his pack was strong and that his pack wasn't going to be fucked around any more.

In the pack, he was more benevolent than he was here. Here, he was alone, and she likely had someone close by. He was ready to just talk, not run away, but talk about how they could make their relationship better. But she just wanted to fight.
He bared his teeth, making no sound until she attacked.

She lunged for him, her chest making contact with his shoulder. He loosed a snarl that could rival the volcano the fought upon. He swung his teeth to her, sliding his rear behind him, and posed his teeth to her face as she sought to bite his neck, snapping his teeth at her face.
He didn't aim to bite, but perhaps a sharp nip or snag on a fang will suffice for her to back away.

They collided but she didn't get the result she wished so. He continued to fight back, and didn't bow down. However her temper rose when instead of a barrage of teeth he gave warnings instead. With unsuccessfully grabbing his neck at any point, and instead met with a face of teeth.

She felt like there was nicks on her face, and managed to loosen herself from him to back up. Orlaith eyed him so, to watch his next movement.

She refused to believe she was on the losing end.

He retreated, clearly not liking that he went for her face.
Who would, seeing his?

She backed up, and he followed.
He wanted to put her on her ass.
Not to hurt her physically, but her pride certainly.

He went for her foreleg, aiming to swipe it out from beneath her.
If she decided not to continue and retaliate then, then neither would he.
He'd try to talk more before leaving for home.

big goof on our roll thread
counting the first despite accidently posting as cel LMAO

He came after, and she was ready. He swiped after her, and nearly fell. Halfway down, but not yet done. She was perhaps on the losing streak, but Orlaith still wouldn't reign without a fight. Her mind hollared with war cries, whispering 'more, more, and more!' She will get better.

If she were to lose, there was always revenge.

The girl, halfway down to falling to the floor lunged at his legs to bring him down with. Perhaps together, they can scurry in a fight on the floor of the earth.

Her teeth came swinging after him as he did hers.
He'd expected he to fall, and was already in motion to push her the rest of the way, but her teeth took out his leg and he lumped down ontop of her instead.

Oof.

He struggled to untangle himself from her, not wanting to actually hurt her. He wanted to see if she was ok. Derg didn't think he was heavy, but the force he came down with must've been pretty uncomfortable at least.
Providing she didn't snag him again, he'd pull himself away and let her rise.
Lmk if this is ok

skipping roll for dialogue !

She was a heavy-set wolf, a great guard amongst the fairies. However with her injured leg, she was weakened in stance. When the thiner foe fell upon her, she collapsed beneath him. She wished so desperately to claw and mange at the fellow, but he instead of attacking, scurried to untangle himself from her.

When she got free, she was quick to back up in a defensive pose. There was a glare toward him, "You are odd," she declared, "most would take the chance to attack, yet, you let me go free." Orlaith knew for certain if the situations were opposite, she wouldn't have let the chance get away. She would've sent a barrage of teeth, a hell upon him with the very chance.

Yet he didnt.

"Why?"

When she arose, she seemed to have her fires soothed.
Or was just refueling them.
Derg took another precautionary step back.

He didn't take her words as praise. Or as an insult.
Curiosity more than anything.
"Because I'd only then be the monster you think we are."
He watched her, for an attack. Not of words, he didn't care what words she threw at him.

"I am determined by my morals. Not the Saints. The individual that did this," he tilted his torn face to her, "still roams free. May even be in your pack. We moved, we do what we wish, as do you. But we won't hurt you, or your friends. Or those who do not deserve it."

He tried to form his words like Nemisis did, but couldn't hold the same poison. He wasn't like that. They came out like a stern telling off.
In truth, he didn't know if what he said was the truth.
"We learned our lesson and will only smite those who have committed sin."
He stole some words Colin had said about sin. Sin was bad, as far as Derg could gather, and he wanted this woman to truly believe that they had changed. Whether that had or not was beyond Derg, but for now he could only try.

"Perhaps you in particular, aren't. But the group you follow, is." The scarred fellow was part of a band that had created a ruckus amongst the coast. However with meeting one, he seemed reasonable. She couldn't deny the respect as a warrior, but still held the disdain within her eyes. Even if she liked one, it couldn't deny the fact he was aligned with one she could not accept.

"Our court is of gentle nature, only I, as the protector, will spill blood if needed." She felt offended by the fact he dared suggested someone of the Seelie Court could have caused an injury. She initates those who come in, and so far, one whom she does not approve, Memory, is still up in the air. At the moment she wouldn't hestitate to throw that man out into the cold. She didn't wish to say it out loud, for her thought that perhaps he was a possibility of Derg's attacker.

The flaming wolf snorted, "You learned nothing by moving even closer to those you caused trouble to."

The group he followed.
Yeah, Donovan and Nemisis could stir shit up, but they hadn't so far. To Derg's knowledge.
Though what Donovan had done didn't actually concern the black and white bitch.
He didn't hold her in high regard since she seemed just as spiteful as Nemisis.
Comparable even.

"Then don't get yourself into war," came his retort.
If she was the only one who could actually fight, they would be crushed under the might of the Saints should her Court be dragged into a war with whatever packs decided they disliked the Saints.

She spoke again, and the words actually irked him for once.
"Then maybe you should make it clearer where we should and shouldn't be. We are here to stay, and won't cause trouble in this mountain range if you don't. And by that, you keep this meeting to yourself."

He couldn't force her.
He could drag her back to the canyon though. That would shut her up.
But no, that would make everything worse.
He'd walk away right now if he wasn't paranoid about being attacked from behind.
So he stared levelly at her, waiting for something.

"The trouble is already here, i'm defending and warning." Orlaith was not one who thought ahead, as she acted upon her instincts. What she knew was the Saints caused trouble on the coast, and now they have moved closer to her home instead. She had a vague idea there was a few others that had the same dislike for them. So, she knew if something happened in the end.. There was more power among her flock.

"It should be clear enough to not move near your enemies, is it not?" She snorted again at the wolf in disdain. It was simple enough to not go toward anybody allied with those they caused trouble to. That enough caused Orlaith to view them in hostility, "and now that you relocated, its inevitable the information will be spread, regardless of me."

She spoke words that didn't quite register.
He only wanted to hear her say yes or not.
These words meant nothing to him.

So he was done here, he gave her a last grunt that can be interpreted any way she wished, and stalked off.
Derg didn't look back. Didn't care to see her running all the way home to tell her precious Court.
They could be secret, at least until they got stronger.
Then they'd strike.

Orlaith didn't pursue. She knew she was losing, despite the bitter taste she felt upon thinking of it. It'd be plain dumb of her to go after the foe while she was injured, and could not overpower yet. A grudge, but she thought with patience.. With full-health, she would be back to tackle him on.

At least the flaming wolf had knew knowledge. Firstly, where the Saints are, secondly, of their scent. If another came by, she knew who they were.
