Ever so slowly, Ruenna decreased the pressure on her end of the bone, so that every time the child pulled she was rewarded with a little bit less resistance. Rue felt the bone slipping free from its entrapment beneath her paw, and she marveled at the child's spirit. The little growl echoing her own was particularly cute. 

Finally, the child wrenched the bone free. Rue tucked her paw back beneath her body and settled in, eyes on the child, waiting to see what she would do next.
