not sure where this fits in the timeline but oh well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

like a thief, ingram steals into the night; retracing steps that are ghastly and familiar to him. thick and omnipresent clouds hide the moon. for this, ingram is thankful ...for this would be a secret he would take to his grave.

it was wanlida who had woven the idea to him in a dream; the affirmation that a bone of his mother would help him to 'hear' the spirits of the commanders better. a bone of his direct bloodline added to his collection; his reading bones.

and it took root; despite ingram's attempts to ignore it. persistently, it nagged at him until he gave up fighting and retracted the pathway back to arrow lake. the graveyard made of the bones of his ( direct ) bloodline.

flesh had rendered from the bone but he knows praimfaya's from blodreina and the og ingram's. their bones were older, weathered; missing and begun to be reclaimed by the earth over the years.

he studies what is intact of her skeleton — for scavengers had clearly been there and taken from her — before claiming two ribs from praimfaya's remains: the longest and one of the smaller ones. cradling them betwixt his jaws as he heads back towards blackwater.

magick, threadbone reading & 'godhood' is to be taken purely with a grain of salt and are written to be creations of ingram's imagination and religious faith.
