Medusa did not know if Nazli would even care, so subservient she was, but perhaps her point was not made clear enough. Medusa had felt bothered, and so she in turn hoped to rankle the girl similarly. 

Whether or not it made any impact, Medusa continued on her way down the dark corridor.
