Inkeri had told Bjarna where she was going. @Turmeric had come back. She had been so happy to see him, she almost knocked the poor male over again. His kind face and the warmth of his eyes. And with each step, she felt shakier and stronger in his presence and she wasn't sure what it meant, but it was more than enough for her.

They made it to a small inlet, dotted with beautiful hillocks, meeting the ocean and the sand and a soft gasp left her mouth. The sea matched her eyes and she wanted to both run towards it and away from it, so with shaking limbs she settled down, ears perked forward, warm gaze taking it all in.

They had filled the space between the sea and stone circle with conversation. But now that the ocean spread like grassland before them, he let the silence speak.

Inkeri gasped, and Turmeric chuckled - pleased at her reaction, pleased at the awe that rimmed her seafoam eyes. Do you like it? He still wanted to ask, feeling a strange bubble of nerves despite the clear signs that she delighted in the sights he had led her to.

He held his questions and settled in beside her, risking the same closeness they had shared on the day they had first met, despite being free and in a more spacious place than the alcove of trees they had settled under back then on the windy plain. This moment felt just as monumental — and indeed, though he had spent more time away from Inkeri than he had together with her, he didn't think much on the time in between. He hardly thought on his life with the Saints - except on his mother now and again, and on the realization that he would never have found this friendship if he had never left.

He was glad he’d left. Glad to be sitting here now, and unable to decide which was more beautiful: the rolling waves which danced in the sunbeams, or the gentle girl at his side.

OOf as always pure poetry. I hope i can keep up <3

Words had stirred the space between them as they had walked. Words of thing seen, of deep moments, of family and friends. It had been lovely and beautiful and in a way a bit heart breaking. Only because she had not realized what she'd been missing until it was right in front of her.

It was beautiful the sea. But so powerful too. Inkeri briefly wondered what it would be like to be that way. Beautiful and powerful. But she would never, so it didn't bear too much thought.

Inkeri shifted and leaned her ink and paper pelage into his side. As she delighted in the sights and the sounds of the ocean. The smell of salt and sand, and fish. She wondered could she hunt these fish, though when a large creature breached the surface and blew water into the air. She doubted very much.

She grasped forepaws around the leg of Merry with a gasp. What was that, Merry? Merry?

She turned to meet his gaze with the sea green of her own gaze. Wondering and happy. The gentle lights dancing along the irises. Curious and wandering and content. So content.

<3 <3 you are always a gem to write with!!

Inkeri shifted to fill the space he'd left between them, and when her fur met his, and she rested against him, his breath caught and the whole earth stilled.

His heart fluttered like a flock of seagulls, and he couldn't focus on the ocean anymore. The waves seemed small next to the great rush that filled him! And his paws, his paws! Weightless. Like he could scoop Inkeri up and fly her across the sea. Show her the real beauty and vastness of this place, and be with her somewhere no other wolven eyes could pry into their laughter, their talk, the quiet moments they would glide in together.

And suddenly, she was grabbing his foreleg.

Hmm? he looked at her with a far off smile. He had heard her question, but it was slow to register, especially when he saw the glow in her own sea green eyes.

Gosh, she was pretty.

But oh - oh!

Oh! he shook himself with a laugh, stupid smile breaking into a bashful grin, oh, that, he turned towards the sea again just as another spout of mist breached the surface of the sea. That's what they call a whale. They live way out in the deep parts of the ocean, it's not every day you get to see one. he turned towards her again, eyes bright, Hey, you want to go closer and catch a better view? They can't get to the shallows or go on land, so we'd be totally safe.

Oh, thank you *blushes* <3

Inkeri was enjoying the sturdiness he offered. It was nice to have that small support, and he smelled like crushed pine needles and open air, beautiful smells if you ask her. Enough to make her absolutely thrilled in the moment.

There was something to be said for the small spell that was cast upon them in the moment. Inkeri herself was flushed and a little floaty. She almost felt as if she were feverish. Which she had never quite experienced before.

She looked to the ocean and was a little scared, but she wanted to enjoy this so she nodded.

Yes please. Please. Are whales dangerous, Merry? Merry?

A little seabird once told me that they’re actually quite friendly, he said with a laugh. Although this same bird had also told him about a time he’d seen whales breaching on land to wrestle their prey…

Nah, these ones here were way far out! They didn’t need to know or worry about that. Still, he added, but we can stick to the sand in case these ones woke up on the wrong side of the seabed. His smile slipped a mischievous glint, you wanna race? First one to that rock down there has to find the loser the prettiest seashell they can find.

A trill of laughter light an airy. and he talks to beautiful creatures. Creatures. she met his gaze and whispered. Are you secretly prince charming. Charming?

A smile lit her face and she bent double, her tail wagging. You're on. On.

Then with a small smile she nipped and then took off, but not to fast. He could catch up if he wanted too.
