she was supposed to return from this stroll.
her red robin had gone missing, and so had one of the men. it was only natural that the queen's curiosity would lead her away from shelter.
but the woman made one fatal mistake: she forgot she was not truly a vampiress.
she walked through the mist of the woods. there were scents here, not of the pair nor even the strangers that lived in her shadows. but something else. as soon as she'd pinpointed who it was that she shared these woods with, a panic rose within her — a mortal's instinct.
she bursts into a wild sprint, careless with the direction. it all looked the same to her, the trees that whipped past her, the bushes whos branches reached to grab her, to trap her from her escape.
i can't go back.
one mistake, that was all that was needed. she hadn't leapt over a root, catching her ankle and sending her tumbling. she had no time to be embarrassed, no time to curse herself for her stupidity. soon she overlooked a ravine, and it was far too late to halt herself from falling straight into the jagged maw of the land.
it all spun for just a moment. she croaked looking for her predator, but found nothing.
and her world turned black.
