After getting over the initial shock of the drastic change to her environment, Hymnal found that things really weren't so bad here. In fact, she had grown to feel quite comfortable. The scents of her sister and parents were comforting and there was no shortage of warmth or food. No matter what, she always felt safe and full. 

She woke from her nap, belly still fairly full from her meal just an hour earlier before she fell asleep. She yawned and stirred a little, stretching her legs in the air. She preferred to sleep on her back but righting herself was not always an easy thing to do. She wiggled in place a few times and threw her head to the side more than once before finally gathering up enough momentum to plop over on her belly. Dust filled her nostrils in the process, pulling a surprisingly loud sneeze from her tiny nose. 

Then suddenly the darkness was gone. She could see blurry shapes and lights—it was overwhelming. She shook a little and released a distressed cry. What on earth had happened?

Eljay'd been asleep and he was suddenly woken up by the distressed cry. Gaze shifted through the room until it landed on Hymnal, who seemed to be in some sort of distress. Eljay immediately crawled closer to her. What's wrong, sweetheart? he asked softly and he touched his nose to her nape, a gesture of I'm here that would usually help calm the children down.
