Nova Peak The Wind's Changed

Her patrol of their new territory had taken her outside their northern borders and into the valley she frequented. When she had come to western edge of the forested vale, a familiar scent entered nostrils--Tomkin. She began to follow it west towards the peaks visible in the distance. The task seemed all too familiar, and she found herself a little irritated that she was yet again tracking down her wayward brother. She hadn't seen him much since arriving at the glacier, and it confused her. He had been with them every step of the way on their trek across the wilds, but once settled, his presence had been scarce. She was somewhere between hurt and angry but hadn't had much time since being made second to really figure out what was going on with her littermate. 

But when she picked up his trail, she couldn't ignore it, and she followed it for miles until she reached the charred forest at the foothills of a mountain. As she made her way farther into the trees, she finally saw him. With a chuff, she moved towards her sibling, stopping when she had come to stand in front of him. Brother, where have you been? I've barely seen you at all, Taki asked, hurt and concern on her face. She thought she finally had him back, but now that they had a home and a pack of their own, he hadn't been there to share it with her or the rest of their family. She needed to know why.
