✴ The movement in the corner of his eye told Revui that the wolf was moving, and he got to his feet hastily enough. As he turned to face the oncoming figure he noted the lowered head and let out a soft huff of amusement, but that caught in his throat when he saw the flash of teeth and heard the accented threat. Revui's snout scrunched as he mimicked the look on the other beast's face; he let out a snarl of his own but it paled in comparison to the full timbre of the adult.
The boy was proud, perhaps too proud, and wasn't used to being talked to in such a way. He decided quickly he did not like it; beyond the beastly and the feral manner in which he interacted with the world, he felt something else, something like insult. But he knew he couldn't push much further beyond a few warning growls of his own — Buckshot was mighty when compared to everything he knew, and it would be best just to return to the mountain.
Revui wasn't eager to do that yet, though. He stalked off a few feet but retained that toothy grimace, his body rigid save for his tail which was raised defiantly.
