The sound of the bear hit his ears as if they'd been boxed; a deep grunt of surprise, and Revui is turning his attention towards the glaringly yellow-white pelt of the creature as it rears back from him. He does not have time to read her body language — the sight of something so immense and so powerful sparked a fight-or-flight response, and while the bear might've been trying to escape without harm, Revui was not that kind of creature.

He saw the way they moved and blocked the light — 

He saw the staggeringly large shape looming over him —

He saw mud-coated paws that could've been the size of his own head, too close, too close —

And out of that shock-and-awe came his scything teeth, bared for his own defence, reaching to parry the assault before it could transpire.
