He asked in that soothing voice he always reserved for her. His tone was normally harsh, stone around others, but only in the darkness— away from prying eyes of others would it melt into something warm and fuzzy. His own gift to her. "Shh, shh." he cooed over and over, urging her to settle down, to breath.
