Though he was nowhere near a giant, he still dwarfed her, and here in the closeness it felt so obvious. It felt powerful. Mix it with returned affection and it'd certainly build his ego. Well, build his ego and lose his rationality -- though he had never once thought of the consequences, even if he was keenly familiar with them. It was unimportant. This was Ibis, and he needed her to want him because she never had, and this was the only way Mal could imagine how. So he tried with every touch.

And then Ibis pulled away, and there was no pause from Mal at her invitation, he hungrily turned after and pulled them together. He shifted on her back and reached for her scruff, teeth closing on her fur as he uttered a possessive growl. This was victory.
