Let alone why it made her stomach twist when anyone (non-familial) praised her. Something to ponder on when she was not so. . . vulnerable.

It has everything one could need or want. Shelter, food, water. I saw no reason not to settle down there. A slight shrug of her shoulders. Uncertain what else made one decide to settle somewhere. Connections, perhaps. Yet she had had none when she had discovered the plateau.
