Maia let her go and smiled fondly as she spoke, though her heart a bit to think that Chickadee was afraid to be alone, even in her own home. Maia could understand why but it did not make the idea any easier to regard. I left your dad there when we went by to check in. He wanted to spend a little time with her anyway.
