Arrluk had been reluctant to leave his home when Kukutux had said it must be done. So much so that he had not gone far off as another might have. His heart did long for elsewhere. It was for here. 

He did not see the northern lands of caribou. He did not share this with his mother as Kassuq had. Instead, his path had guided him from one place of water to the next. It was not the snow slopes his spirit longed but the rivers, the lakes, the marsh. Sea. 

Now he returned home, to the lands of Nuiruk. To the villages of Moon. After reaching the Alpine Lake, Arrluk strode the mountain sides of Moonglow with a new ease. When he was within its mountain borders, he came to the lake for a drink and then sought out his parents. There on grandfather rock he could see his father lay in the distance. His mother a busy bee. 

Arrluk's front was still stained heavily with blood. He had met Akhlut. That night both creatures rested and both became something new. A piece of Arrluk's heart sacrificed to the sea in exchange for the strength of Akhlut's spirit. In the morning, Arrluk had eaten of its flesh- its heart, and wore the blood of it proudly now.
