i let this get horribly outdated.
it's almost time, leto explains as she gently -- and slowly -- guides herself downwards. it's as if watching a gracile boulder; soto marvels at the body's ability to expand with the components within.

si. soto affirms, having returned only the day before from scouting. he drags another mound of dirt upwards, working for a time in silence. he packs the sides with hard clay and drags the screen of a broken pine above it. turning back to leto, soto speaks once more, explaining that there were plans in the works for a den to be made for her at luneshale.

this den would be makeshift - temporary - and verapaz's next generation reared in the comforting embrace of the shale.
