Ajei returned the embrace. She was glad she had found new family after she had lost her mother. Glad that there were those that loved her. Glad for Moonwoman and sunman and her own Arrluk. She had been blessed ten fold. 

Ajei blinked absolutely surprised. She did not know what to say at first. Her mind whirring. What about Vaire? She had been the next in line? Or one of the grandaughters. That was not to say that Ajei didn't feel deeply and truly honored. And there was no doubt in her mind that she would accept. Yet she felt as if she was taking away from the actual daughters of moonglow. 

I would gladly take the mantle, but it feels as if I am taking from the daughters of moonglow. For moonglow was the life blood of Aiolos and Kukutux. It belonged to them more than anyone else.
