Redhawk Caldera If the whole wide world stops spinning

She'd guessed she was going to have nightmares that first night and boy howdy was she right.  Early on Maia woke multiple times, every one of them with her heart hammering in her throat, but every single time Eljay was there.  Just having the presence of someone next to her was enough and eventually, even her mind had to call it quits.  She slept dreamlessly for a long time, and deep enough that not many things would have been able to wake her up.

When Maia did finally wake, the first thing she realized was how heckin thirsty she was.  The second was that her head still hurt, a lot.  She let out a soft groan, but slowly turned over to push herself stiffly into a sitting position.  It felt a bit like she'd been tossed off of the Moonspear; everything ached except for the bites, which were something else entirely.  Still, she felt miles ahead of before.

Remembering suddenly that she wasn't exactly in her own space, Maia immediately looked for @Eljay, shame creeping in to sit again like a rock in her stomach.
