Maia hadn't spoken to @Eljay about her talk with Towhee yet or about her thoughts on visiting the Caldera, but she had made a point to spend as much time as she could with him meanwhile. Walks, chats... she relished it as much as she could.

Sometimes, though, hunting or patrolling duties came into play. She did a bit more than she had in previous packs, traveling less and working more here. She was a Raven after all!

Today, walking the border, Maia's eyes caught movement and her stomach lurched. Patrols were always nerve-wracking for her because she wasn't honestly sure what she'd do? If something came? She was no fighter. Luckily she recognized the movement, sliding tentatively closer, as another wolf. One who seemed to be respectfully on the other side, watching. Oh, wow, had they been there long? She didn't hear a call! Did she space and miss it? (That would be so her.)

Oh, hey! Sorry! Maia called out, the apology an automatic reflex that she didn't even think about giving. Do you, uh, need something? Maia smiled, not recognizing the stranger one bit. She was extremely pretty though, wow.
