Steph trotted through the forest, slowing as she broke through the edge and headed towards Stone Circle. It held even more of a special place now that some of the stones were named. The most recent body placed here, Cebra, laid at the base of the Warrior Stone. Steph hadn't known the women well, but she must have been some kind of strong for Valette to honor her in such a way. She sat down on her haunches next to the stone, hoping to draw some of that strength into her. Steph didn't feel particularly strong, but she knew that would have to change. And soon.

She stayed for a while, but knew she needed to get back to patrolling. Ever since Tulimaq had graced their borders with his presence, she had upped her search of any signs that he passed them. So far, nothing. Maybe he had gotten the hint and stayed away. After all, he had been training Merrit apparently outside their home. Why not continue that?

Her trotting came to a slow halt as she paused to catch her breath. The sun had settled a couple hours ago, and the temperature had dropped. The warm air that came from her maw was visible even in the darkened night.

sorry for the wait, somehow this slipped by me!
Nighttime walks have become habit lately in the face of his stubborn insomnia; no matter what he does, he can't sleep properly. So he walks instead — he'd call it patrolling, maybe, to anyone else. He does try to stick to the borders, and sometimes he can be assed to leave his scent, but in his mind it is just a walk. He doesn't need the added stress of (real or imagined) responsibility when he's basically dying from lack of sleep (okay, maybe that's dramatic, but still).
The scent of another draws him from his thoughts, and a moment later he spots a figure in the darkness. He doesn't hesitate to approach his packmate, realizing as he draws closer that it's the girl who'd been promoted to Beta — Steph? He chuffs softly, halting a few feet away from her with his tail swishing.

A chuff from behind caught her attention, and her head swiveled around, her gaze settling on a male. She mirrored him and wagged her tail in a friendly invitation to join her. Hello, I'm Steph, she introduced herself. She remembered seeing him at the meeting, but didn't recall his name. She had been rather nervous that day, and didn't retain the names that Valette had mentioned of the new members.

Were you patrolling? she asked, thinking they could join up and do it together, if he was. She held the invite, however, just in case he was passing along to another place or had other plans.
