He thought for half a moment before replying, "Your pack isn't right for me." He wouldn't stay where there could be problems with him and an Alpha. Not when Grezig would be stuck in the middle of his mess. His head tilted slightly more, letting an ear drop. He wasn't sure why he was trusting a boy. One who, may be impressive in stature, may not have the capability of fighting. But no, he didn't need to use brawn over brain.
He had the influence that Derg would exploit.
"I don't want my sister to be unhappy. I'm sure that's enough of a task to trust someone I don't know with." The man let a smile hint his expression. He wouldn't be sour if the boy would cuss him out for being a fool -- and yet Derg half expected him to just understand and accept his concerns. Or something along those lines. He'd never asked for a favour before. But if he felt the same about Grezig as she did about him -- he was sure she'd be safer. Happier.
