The world had settled. They had too, it seemed.
Rusalka no longer took harbour along the shore and for that Reyes was greatful, if a bit sullen, as their decision to root themselves upon the plateau felt like the end of an era to him; maybe not so dramatic as that, but... It felt like they'd given up on the coast. Given up on finding Rosalyn too, which he resented. All he could do now was pace aimlessly while the air continued to cool day after day.
There wasn't much to keep him distracted - no waves to play in, no caches to dig since there was next to no food, and no pests to drive away from the borders. It was so still here. Stagnant. He decided pretty quickly as he patrolled the northern reaches of the territory that he absolutely, fundamentally, loathed this place.
