She wasn't really sure what to do aside from simply let him cry on her.  What he said made absolutely no sense to her.  She had never heard of any Peter, but she sat back on her haunches and lifted up both forelegs anyway, wrapping him in a hug while this time she rested her head on top of his.  Seemed only right to return the favor.  She was no stranger to meltdowns like these, as he'd discovered last night.  Maia hid them well but her life was a series of ups and downs that fluctuated on the daily.  Everything she felt she felt twofold, so Eljay's emotions had always made a lot of sense to her.

It was good that he was mindful of her healing wounds because she wasn't.  She didn't say anything more, just stayed until he cried himself out.  If there was anything good that came out of another person's pain it was that it tended to make you completely forget about your own.  All of her self doubts were gone and replaced by very real concern.  Hopefully he'd tell her if she'd done something wrong because she felt horrendously like she'd been the cause of this.  She was just glad he wasn't walking away right now.
